We’re back on the road and headed south.

It’s a mighty match-up at Adelaide Oval as both sides look to continue their climb up the ladder.

So, Lions Fans find a comfy spot as we dive into our round 9 match preview.

Last Time We Met

Last time: Brisbane Lions 15.9 (99) d Adelaide Crows 13.15 (93), Round 22, 2023

When we last faced the pride of South Australia, it went down to the wire at the Gabba.

Co-captain Harris Andrews was a brick wall in defence, thwarting Adelaide's forward raids all game. Charlie Cameron was electric providing a blistering third quarter to hand our boys a helpful lead going into the final term, while Hugh McCluggage did what Hugh does best, racking up 28 disposals and two goals, arguably our best player on the day.

This time round we head to the crow’s nest, Adelaide Oval, to face a resurgent Adelaide outfit. It’s going to be a fiery match up as both teams sit side by side on the ladder and look to continue the climb towards the top eight.

Excited About

Shadeau Brain DEBUT!

It’s another fantastic story about a Lions Academy graduate. Shadeau Brain will be the first ‘Shadeau’ to play in the AFL when he pulls on the #34 jumper to become the Lions’ third debutant in eight days.

The Noosa Tigers product was initially recruited as a 183-centimetre forward, Brain’s versatility has seen him move to the half-back flank, where his speed and ball use has been on full display in the VFL.

We can’t wait to see the Shadeau man run out onto Adelaide Oval Sunday afternoon and treat Lions fans to what the next generation looks like!

Match-ups we're keen for

Jake Soligo vs Cam Rayner

Two rising stars of the competition that possess plenty of x-factor and come Sunday afternoon either one could be the difference in helping their side claim a pivotal win. Soligo is fast becoming the engine that makes the Crows midfield go and Rayner, well as Lions fans know, can turn a game right on its head with his power to break through contest and kick clutch goals.

It's going to be one hell of a showdown between these two men and we’re going to be behind Pumbaa all the way as he and our midfield crop look to get the job done.
