We take a look at five players to watch in our final game of Season 2016.

Nick Riewoldt

Nick Riewoldt is a player that the Lions will need to keep a close eye on this weekend. This Season the Saints' big man has kicked 32 goals and over his career he has kicked more goals at Etihad Stadium than any other player. Queensland born, and first pick in the 2000 draft, Riewoldt averages 20.5 disposals a game and has a huge tank for such a big man. He averages 106 AFL Fantasy points in 2016, and has only missed one game this Season due to injury. Riewoldt will need close attention if the Lions are to nulify his scoring abilities.

Maverick Weller

Described as an ‘ultra professional’ by the Saints, Maverick Weller has played every game this season. Only 26 years old, in the leadership group and averaging 16.3 disposals, Weller is an exciting and damaging player that the Lions will have to keep an eye on. Typically playing on ball, you can expect him to cross paths with the 'tagging king’ Mitch Robinson.

Josh Bruce

The high-flying Josh Bruce appeared in the final three for the 'Mark of the Year' award in 2015. Strong marks are a trademark of Bruce’s, but he’s also known for his ability to kick goals. Standing at 197cm tall and just shy of 100kg, he will provide a strong presence for the Saints. Young defender Harris Andrews will have a quality arm wrestle this weekend.

Daniel Merrett

Daniel Merrett will play the last game of his career this weekend and will be on a mission to make it a fairy tale ending. Predicted to have the role on Nick Riewoldt, Sauce is in no way out of his depth. Delivering one of his best games for the Season against Geelong at the Gabba on the weekend, he will be in good form coming into this match. Merrett’s composure and experience will be key to the Lions' success.

Dayne Zorko

Zorko is having a stellar 2016 season, and is arguably the Lions' most consistent performer. He will be looking to finish the year with a solid performance. Zorko is the leading goal kicker for the Lions with 22, and according to the AFL's Schick Player Ratings is rated number 10 in the competition - making him the highest rated player on the field this weekend. His explosive game style will be on display through the midfield and the quick track at Etihad Stadium will suit him perfectly.
