The Brisbane Lions could be without Tom Rockliff and Daniel Rich as they race against the clock to be fit for Sunday’s clash in Geelong.

Scans today cleared Rockliff (calf) and Rich (hamstring) of major damage, however they are still considered “touch and go” to face the Cats.

“Given we have an eight-day break before Geelong it gives me half a chance to get up,” Rockliff told The Courier Mail.

“Hopefully it can settle down pretty quickly and I’ll be right to go. I did the calf early in the game and it lingered but I’ll do everything I can to be right.”

Midfielder Mitch Robinson is confident he’ll return from the Grade 1 calf tear that kept him out of the Kangaroos match.

“I’ll look after the calf, get all the rehab done. Hopefully I’ll be back against Geelong, shutting down Dangerfield,” Robinson told listeners on last week’s "From the Players’ Lounge" podcast.

First-year midfielder Ben Keays is a possibility to make his AFL debut after racking up 39 disposals in the NEAFL on Saturday. He is the likely replacement for Rockliff or Rich if they miss with injury.

In better news for the Lions, star midfielder Dayne Beams may return as soon as Round 4 to take on Gold Coast.

The reigning best and fairest winner is training strongly in his recovery from knee tendinitis.

“He's taking his rehabilitation to another level,” Francis told AFL.com.au.

“He's been outstanding with his work rate.

“We're going to be very conservative though.”

A full injury update will be provided tomorrow in the Club’s Recovery Report.
